Loblolly Yacht Club, Supplemental Post 11/13/2009

This yacht club did not fully reveal it's opulence until this morning. As the previous post indicated the club facility is new with a stodgy grand gala opening this evening. I attempted to gain access to the members area this morning to snap a few shots but to no avail, none of the members are permitted until this evening as well. My only view was through the windows and words cannot adequately describe the bar and sitting areas. Our only permitted access was to the public restrooms and needless to say they are as well appointed as some of the finer homes I have seen. The hand towels are of a paper similar to linen embossed with the club's burgee and the toilet tissue is folded similar to the presentation of a fine hotel.

Knot-A-Lot at the dock. I cannot say we blended in with our neighbors, although they were friendly.
I got the impression that if you didn't bring a new yacht to the affair you would be soundly turned away (not all were new but none had any indication of a sunburn. A brand spanking new Grand Banks here.
Or would a 65' custom motorsailer be more your cup of tea.
Among the more modest presentations a new 35' Cabo express.
Or for the sturdy yachtsman, 110' of sailing Ketch.

Among my top three favorites, 90' of serious custom Carolina sportfisherman..........
......with enough teak to keep a few deck hands busy........
.....and let's guess $10,000 worth of the best fishing seat in the house.
We have seen this vintage gentleman's launch before and though not flawless very cool.
We saw this boat briefly in Melbourne when he maneuvered to dock opposite us at the fuel dock as we watched. Then shortly thereafter as he left the marina. When queried of the harbormaster as he made his way off the dock past us to his office about what's up. he stated matter of factly "They have an attitude, no place for that here". That's it, on down to West Palm
